Hi! I’m an Applied Neuroscience MSc student at King’s College London, a visiting neuroscientific researcher at the University of Edinburgh, and an experienced private tutor with 10 years of teaching GCSE and A-Level students.
My academic background includes Biomedical Sciences, and Applied Neuroscience/functional neuroanatomy and neurodevelopment at Cambridge University. Alongside tutoring, I also run a leading specialist physical therapy clinic in london, so I bring a strong real-world understanding of biology, health, anatomy and science into my teaching.
At the moment, due to time limitations, I am focusing mainly on GCSE students.
Over the years, my lovely students have excelled in their exams, but my first priority has always been to positively change how they approach science and maths. Many students begin with a robotic, fear-driven approach: memorise, panic, forget. I love helping them move from that mindset into genuine understanding, confidence, and the “oh, I actually get it!” feeling.
I am completely flexible in my teaching methods and focus on each student as an individual. I tailor lessons to their learning style, pace, confidence level and exam board, building strong understanding before moving into exam technique and mark scheme practice.
I believe education should not be a one-way system of learn and recall. It should be a comfortable, encouraging environment where students learn how they learn best, gain confidence, and genuinely understand the material they are engaging with.
Teaching summary:
Step 1: Build a grounded understanding of the topic as a whole, including how it relates to real life. This helps students care about the subject, understand it more deeply, and become more curious and confident.
Step 2: Increase knowledge depth through detailed questioning, clear explanations, diagrams, examples, and exam-board-specific terminology.
Step 3: Test understanding through practice questions and mock papers, while learning mark scheme techniques, common patterns, and exam “cheat codes”.
Step 4: Exams! By this point, the real paper should feel like one of our practice sessions- familiar, manageable, and much less stressful.
Current tutoring focus:
GCSE Biology
GCSE Chemistry
GCSE Physics
GCSE Maths
National 5 Science and Maths
General fees:
Online GCSE and National 5 preparation: £40 per hour
First lesson free. I use this session to understand the student, their current level, their confidence, and how they learn best. This helps me shape their lessons for maximum comfort, confidence and results.
