There will be a range of topics covered from Algebra, Proportion, Geometry, Probability/Statistics and Number. We will focus on areas students sturggle but with a range of methods for teaching adjusted to suit the confidence and ability of the student.
All students will be able to tell me exactly what they would like to cover in the sessions and I will adapt to suit this prior to or in the session. If I feel a student is confident with a topic I am likely to ask them to continue to do a little practice on their own, when I am not there, so students can also become an independent Mathematician ready for the environment of an examination. I do not set 'homework', only a few more questions to practice between sessions that we will have already done in the session together. I would prefer all sessions to be face to face as this is better for both teaching and also for the learner. I will do a 'warm-up' task at the beginning, and a reminder part at the end of the session.
