I offer tutorials in Fine Art or English Literature and Language. My tutorials are mainly aimed at GCSE level, however I can provide more fun and workshop based sessions for lower secondary and primary level.
Art:
Lessons can be structured in two ways depending on what you would like to gain from the tutorial.
Practical: A variation of workshop exercises and practice of technique which aim to improve skill.
or,
Exam based: Review of external work, critique and what went well, planning the next steps, research methods and giving the project a direction.
I can also offer half and half of these options, though for practical work, your own chosen materials to create the art with are required, e.g. pencils, paints, paper.

English Literature:
I have a great understanding of the mark schemes and can review and work through essay writing and structure for any form of literature. We can work through text analysis techniques for poetry or prose, relevant contexts, comparison, and revision methods.
Despite my knowledge being limited to texts I have studied myself, this does not affect the study of exam technique and I can advise revision methods for your texts.

English Language:
The main components of English Language at GCSE level are Unseen texts and Creative writing. We will work on how to analyse structure and language, compare texts, writing for particular forms, and breaking down creative writing methods.

The student may pick something specific they would like to focus on, or we can cover an all round look at their preferred area of study.
