My lessons are structured, supportive, and focused on building confidence as well as improving results. I usually begin by identifying the student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then tailor each session to their specific needs.
Lessons typically start with a clear explanation of the topic, broken down into simple, manageable steps. I use worked examples to model how to approach different types of questions, followed by guided practice where the student attempts questions with support. As confidence grows, we move on to more challenging exam-style questions to develop problem-solving skills and exam technique.
I make sure students fully understand each concept before moving on, as strong foundations are key to success in maths. I also encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking, which helps deepen their understanding.
Having achieved a grade 8 in GCSE Maths, I am familiar with the exam structure and common areas students struggle with. I have experience helping peers improve their understanding, so I know how to explain topics in a clear and relatable way.
Overall, my lessons are interactive, patient, and focused on helping students feel more confident and capable in maths.
