Hello,

I'm Freya, and I am studying English Literature with Hispanic Studies in my second year at university.

I am available as a tutor for both English Literature and English Language. I received a grade 9 in both Literature and Language at GCSE and an A for English Literature A-Level.

In my lessons, I would use my own enjoyment of reading to foster a similar one in my tutees. Lessons would be interactive and focus on developing an understanding and analysis of the text through conversation and discussion. We would also, of course, look at tips on how to answer exam questions to the student's highest ability. However, I would focus on ensuring the student enjoys our sessions and takes away more than just an exam grade from the texts we study.

I have volunteering experience in teaching children at a secondary school, in which I learnt how to professionally interact with children. My sessions would always be relaxed and low-pressure.

My main passion is creative writing - in my spare time, I am regularly honing this craft and uploading pieces to my website or submitting them to competitions. Because of this, I would be of value to students who are struggling with the English Language GCSE as well. I would focus on the creative aspects of the paper, but also on perfecting the literacy skills needed to pass the exam.
