Frederico Soares

I am a Portuguese tutor with a deep passion for teaching and for building cultural bridges through language. Throughout my career, I have worked with English students at both primary and secondary levels, helping them not only master Portuguese but also understand the rhythm, logic, and charm that make it such a vibrant and expressive language.
My teaching approach is entirely personalised: each lesson is adapted to the student’s pace, interests, and goals. I believe that learning should be an engaging and meaningful journey — that’s why my classes blend practical conversation, language games, guided reading, and creative activities, always grounded in cultural context and critical thinking.
I use authentic materials — music, videos, news articles, and literature — to bring students closer to real, living Portuguese as it is spoken and felt every day in Portugal. At the same time, I apply modern linguistic techniques such as spaced repetition, storytelling, and gradual immersion, ensuring lasting progress and genuine fluency.
I’m patient, attentive, and encouraging. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where mistakes are seen as steps toward mastery. Above all, I aim to help each student gain confidence, fluency, and genuine enjoyment in communicating in Portuguese.
For me, teaching is far more than sharing knowledge — it’s about awakening curiosity and inspiring growth.
