Freddie Osborne

I have a Masters in Mathematics with first class honours from the University of Southampton alongside A*'s in A level Maths and further maths respectively. Additionally, I have two years of experience helping first year maths university students with coursework and other questions related to different mathematical concepts within a supportive environment to ensure that the students have an easy transition into university. I like to use a demonstrative approach towards tutoring because I find that examples can be the best way to illustrate the key ideas behind a mathematical concept so I like to first work through an example with the student before allowing them to attempt some questions with me there to help them if they get stuck or make any mistakes within a safe and low pressure environment. This is because I believe that making mistakes can be a good way to develop understanding of a topic and by trying out different strategies with a problem can allow for a deeper level of thought about what the questions are asking of the student. I am happy to do online or in person tutoring.
