My lessons enable a student to feel more confient in their understanding of a subject. One of the main focuses is on the sudent enjoying what they're learning so that they feel motivated to explore the subject and get a broader understanding. If there are any areas that they struggle on we can cover them in detail and I can provide methods that have worked in the past when trying to understand complicated material. I have experience working with students that have specific educational needs so i'm able to adapt my teaching method to reflect the needs of the student and ensure they have a good grasp of the content. Most lessons start with callbacks to earlier material to ensure that it becomes ingrained in their brain because often students complete a topic and then move on to the next. It's important to have frequent refreshers on material that was covered in previous weeks or months. There would then be time to go over specific materials that the student is currently studyingand find a way to make it engaging for them. This can also be shifted to focusing on exam technique if there are important exams or tests coming up. At the end of the session there would be a recap to ensure that they have an understanding of what was covered in the sesssion with an emphasis on them not feeling embarrased about not fully grasping certain concepts. It's important to create a space where a student feels they can make mistakes without judgement or criticism and can focus instead on learning from them.
