Hi, my name is Florence, and I’m a German and Linguistics student at the University of Oxford. I studied German, History and English Literature at A-Level, and have experience tutoring A-Level German and the Oxford Modern Languages Admissions Test. My specialist subject is German, but I am happy to teach English and History at A-Level or GCSE. Whilst on my year abroad, I spent six months teaching English as a foreign language to students between the ages of eight and sixteen; I thus feel comfortable working with a wide range of ages and abilities. I strive to create a safe environment where you feel comfortable to make mistakes, learn from them and improve your abilities and confidence. I want my students to see exams as an opportunity to show off their hard work, and with my help, I would hope to reduce the anxieties that come with exam preparation and revision.
In my tutoring lessons, I encourage the students to lead our programme. Whilst I may have a planned-out lesson format, I believe the lesson should retain flexibility, to ensure that a student does not feel rushed with a topic they’re uncertain about.
As well as being an academic tutor, I have worked with my former secondary school and tutoring agencies to hold Oxbridge interview practice. Therefore, if you are aiming towards Oxbridge, I would be happy to help you along in that journey. I look forward to working with your child to help them improve their academic and personal goals.
