Having worked with a variety of students, I understand that everyone is different in the way that they learn and understand content. Depending on your needs, I can deliver a short lesson on your chosen subject matter, with a powerpoint and short tasks, or work through some exam style questions with you. I will use an online whiteboard to allow for collaboration, and check full understanding at every point. I will ask you plenty of questions, and so I encourage you to ask me questions too! This is the best way for me to understand your knowledge, and a great opportunity for us to learn together. For those working towards exams, we can identify any weak points together, and I will focus my lessons on the specification, to maximise their impact on your grades.
I have experience working in a secondary school in Oxford, where I received very positive feedback for the clarity and depth of my teaching. I try to adapt to the student's needs, finding new analogies and explanations for tricky subjects, since I know how hard it is to revise content you don't understand! The summer is a great opportunity to get ahead before the start of the next academic year, and the best way to do this is to iron out any misunderstandings or wobbly topics: I will make sure you have a strong foundation before we move on to anything more challenging, and I hope in this way to show you the joy of science!
