My lessons are structured yet dynamic, designed to combine academic rigour with engagement and creativity. I do not simply lecture; instead, I ensure that every student actively participates in interrogating ideas, applying knowledge, and developing independence in their learning. This creates lessons that are purposeful, results-driven, and centred on measurable progress.
Each session begins with clear goals and a focused recap of prior material to reinforce understanding. We then move into targeted tasks such as exam-style practice, structured debates, or collaborative problem-solving exercises. These are deliberately varied to push students beyond memorisation into higher-order thinking. I emphasise critical analysis, teaching students to structure arguments effectively, evaluate evidence with precision, and communicate ideas confidently.
My teaching style is grounded in two years of experience tutoring English and Maths online, where I successfully helped struggling GCSE students not only pass but in many cases exceed their predicted grades. Alongside this, my two years of experience as a nanny gave me valuable skills in patience, communication, and understanding the needs of younger learners, while my time mentoring younger students at school taught me how to guide with empathy and encouragement. Together, these experiences allow me to create lessons that are tailored to each learner’s personality and learning style while maintaining academic discipline.
I hold students to high standards but balance this with encouragement and constructive guidance. My ultimate goal is to equip them not only for exams, but with the intellectual discipline, resilience, and problem-solving abilities that will serve them well in education and beyond.
