I have worked in UK secondary schools as a Lead Teacher of Spanish and French, responsible for the co-ordination of A-Level languages, teaching students from disadvantaged backgrounds for the past 8 years.

I encourage my students to gain a good grasp of their target language through interactive conversation, translation, and exposure to a range of authentic visual and audio materials in order to develop their confidence in language acquisition, with the correct level of support for them to feel empowered.

I am able to recognise the learning styles of my students and adapt my teaching style to best support their needs to ensure language learning is inclusive, engaging and progressive.
As a native English speaker, I understand the barriers that many learners face when studying a foreign language, and I am therefore able to explain things in a way that makes sense to an English speaker, supporting them to make progress in their foreign language.

Having recently left the classroom, I now work for an international charity in a Learning and Development capacity. I have an in-depth understanding of how adult adults learn, and I am able to tailor my style to best support learners with limited time and a heavy workload.

I have a real passion for languages, and this comes across in my lessons. Learning an additional language is just one part of the jigsaw puzzle to unlocking a whole new world! I wish you all the best on your journey as you seek a new challenge, and I hope to hear from you soon!
