Finley Preen

I have always had a passion for mathematics and I love to share this passion with others. Throughout my time at sixth form I spent every Monday lunchtime tutoring year 7 students in mathematics as part of the MESME program, and I was one of the first few student tutors to partake in this program. It was incredibly fulfilling to support students of varying ability and I would love to continue helping students succeed. I also have experience teaching KS2 students which I did as my work experience in year 12. I always endeavour to make maths as fun as possible and to encourage students to ask questions, as the mathematical journey is about being curious, not about how well you can divide fractions or draw graphs.
I have experience in teaching non-academic skills to people with disabilities, and whilst I haven’t taught maths to students with disabilities, the skills I have obtained over the years make me an effective communicator with a variety of people.
