I believe that teaching is not about going over something once and expecting a student to remember it. I think that the best way for students to learn is through constant memory recall, which is then applied in essay planning.
For example, I am predicted a 9 in English literature because, rather than teaching carelessly, my teacher used the method I mentioned.

For example, I am predicted a 9 in English literature because, rather than teaching carelessly, my teacher used the method I mentioned.
Here are my predicted grades:
- AQA English Literature: 9
- AQA English Language: 7
- Edexcel Mathematics: 7
- Edexcel Combined Science: 6-6
- Edexcel History: 8
- AQA Spanish: 6
- AQA Photography: 8
- OCR Music: 6
Note that my tutoring may not be as available in September due to college, but I do plan to use days off for tutoring.
Online tutoring is easier for me, but I do believe in person is more effective. I am based in the Oldham area, possibly Ashton-Under-Lyne depending on where it is.
In my lessons, I will open by asking the student how much they know about whichever topic(s) they want to study via active memory recall. Then, I will teach things they may not know such as essay structure or quotes. After this, we will annotate an extract and practice essay planning and develop whichever part of an essay the student chooses (introduction, before extract etc), but this is dependent on time. Finally, the lesson will conclude with a final active memory recall exercise to ensure the student is able to memorise everything they need.
NOTE: Depending on the length of time in the tutoring session, the student may also create revision resources such as flash cards (or whatever method is effective for them) to take away with them and revise from.
DISCLAIMER: I do not have experience teaching or tutoring prior to this, but that does not mean I am not capable.
