Currently teach 1 student in the Derbyshire Area, and also have 1 year of experience in teaching in a previous institution where I used to learn for my A-Levels and GCSEs in Northamptton School for Boys. Received an A in my A-Level Maths, and also received a 7 in my GCSE Mathemtics course. During my time teaching at my previous institution, I would take out a group of 5 boys, and would pick out topics that they perhaps struggled in during the test. This way I could gather more evidence about their skill levels and abilities at which each of them could operate in. I would also prepare for them mini-tests, to see if they gained an understanding in what I taught, and if not, I would change my approach to see their progress if I taught them in a different manner. Overall this gave an insight to how evidence gathering in teaching is very important, as this allows the teacher to track the student's and gives greater time efficiency for the teacher to organise topics which a student may struggle more on, rather than repeating a topic which may be up to standard with the student's ability to solve the issue. However it was just as important to look for questions that were challenging. This was important as this allowed the student to prepare for any unexpected questions on the exam, even if the topic may appear to be mostly easy but turns out to be rather difficult.
