I believe it is important to build a good rapport with students in order to encourage a positive learning environment and this helps to build their confidence, self-esteem and belief in their own potential. This consequently, leads to students taking responsibility for their own learning journey. I feel that learning should be enjoyable with a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere that encourages questions and discussions.
After an initial consultation with the student and parents, a personalised study plan will be agreed. I work at the student's pace and their preferred way of learning. In the hourly lesson, learning will be graduated to reinforce the mathematical concepts and increase the depth of understanding of the topic.
My approach offers patience, care and approachability to help students feel more confident in their mathematical abilities. I am flexible, adapting to the unique needs and learning styles of each student and explore different approaches to the subject. I try to accommodate any personal interests to maximise the enjoyment and engagement of the lesson and for students to understand the practical application of maths to all aspects of daily life.
I aim to be a good role model and inspire students to reach their full potential like my maths teacher inspired me. I feel a great sense of reward when students overcome their barriers, improve and achieve their potential.
I am extremely proud to receive positive feedback from parents, schools and students themselves that anxiety has reduced around learning, performance has increased and that the students are embracing learning with a more positive attitude.

It is a universal language and an essential life skill. I have always enjoyed Maths as a subject and found it challenging and great fun. I would like to teach students to appreciate Maths in the same way too.
