Faisa Kanyere

Hello everyone! My name is Faisa Kanyere, and I am a qualified Geography teacher with a PGCE in Education and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

My lessons are designed to be engaging, interactive, and inclusive, ensuring every student feels confident and supported as they learn.

In my classroom, I use a variety of teaching methods, including visual aids, group work, and Socratic questioning, to encourage curiosity and critical thinking. Lessons are well-structured and sequenced to build on prior knowledge, making complex topics like tectonic plates, climate change, and river processes easy to understand. I also use real-world case studies and fieldwork activities to help students see the relevance of geography in their daily lives.

I have experience teaching students of all abilities, including those with SEND and EAL needs, and I adapt my lessons using differentiated resources, glossaries, and visual success criteria. I make sure to give plenty of wait time for answers, encouraging everyone to contribute.

Feedback and progress tracking are a key part of my teaching. I provide constructive feedback and opportunities for students to reflect and improve, which helps build both confidence and resilience.

Most importantly, I aim to create a positive and respectful learning environment where students enjoy coming to class, feel safe to ask questions, and are inspired to explore the world around them.
