What My Lessons Are Like
When I first started my GCSEs, I was failing English. My essays were untidy, my arguments weren’t clear, and I had no idea how examiners wanted me to structure my answers. Instead of giving up, I taught myself how to break the subject down into clear steps. I studied the mark schemes, analysed top answers, and practised until I could turn my weaknesses into strengths. By the end, I had not only passed — I achieved top grades in both English Language and Literature.
That experience shapes the way I teach today. I know what it feels like to struggle, and I know how to push through it. I also understand that exam success isn’t just about talent — it’s about having the right strategies. That’s exactly what I offer my IELTS students: practical, step-by-step methods that remove the stress of the exam and replace it with confidence.
Lesson format:
Each lesson follows a clear structure so you always know what we’re working on:
1. Warm-up activity to review progress and set the focus.
2. Strategy input where I explain how to approach a specific IELTS task or question type.
3. Guided practice using real exam-style questions, where I support you as you work through answers.
4. Feedback and correction so you know exactly what went wrong and how to improve it.
5. Timed exam challenge to build speed, accuracy, and confidence under pressure.
Content:
I cover all four IELTS skills — Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking — but lessons are tailored to your needs. If Writing Task 2 essays are holding you back, we’ll focus on planning, structuring arguments, and writing clearly. If Speaking makes you nervous, I’ll run realistic mock tests, record your answers, and give detailed corrections on fluency, grammar, and pronunciation.
Dynamics:
My teaching style is interactive, supportive, and results-driven. I’ll push you to improve while ensuring you understand the reasons behind your changes. I don’t just correct mistakes — I explain patterns, give examples, and help you develop habits that last. Lessons aren’t one-way lectures; they’re conversations where you are actively involved.
Experience:
I bring a strong academic background to my teaching. I achieved top marks in English Language and Literature at GCSE, three A* grades in humanities-based A-Levels, and I am currently studying Law at King’s College London. These subjects demand advanced reading, writing, and analytical skills, all of which directly transfer to IELTS preparation.
By the end of our lessons, you won’t just know more English — you’ll know exactly how to excel in the IELTS exam. You’ll walk in confident, armed with proven strategies, ready to achieve the band score you need.
