I am a 16-year-old student looking for work experience in the tutoring field. I would like to develop my communication and explanation skills while supporting younger students who need extra help in Maths and English. I am confident in my understanding of these core subjects and familiar with the common struggles many students face, such as grasping grammar rules, building vocabulary, tackling tricky word problems, and understanding mathematical methods. I believe I can explain these topics in simpler, more relatable ways, especially through one-to-one guidance, where I can share the tricks and methods that have helped me improve.
I am particularly interested in working with primary school children or lower-level students, as I enjoy creating a friendly and encouraging learning environment where children feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand how overwhelming schoolwork can feel at that age, and I want to help students build confidence in their abilities by showing them that learning can be both fun and rewarding.
As someone who has recently been through the same stages of learning, I can relate to the difficulties they might have and break things down in ways that make sense to them. I am patient, understanding, and enthusiastic, and I aim to help students feel proud of their progress, no matter how small. I believe my approachable nature and strong communication skills make me a great fit for this type of role. Tutoring younger children will not only allow me to support their growth but also give me valuable experience in teaching, mentoring, and leadership — skills that will benefit me in any future career.
