What type of learning works best for you is something we will figure out together along the journey. When it comes to learning skills, I am a big believer in hands-on learning. So, during lessons I avoid long, information heavy explanations and instead explain a concept and then immediately let the student apply the knowledge practically.

For example, if I want to teach the importance of well structure code, I would first give a brief explanation. Then I would give them an example of poor code and instruct the student to add a new feature to the program, and they would experience the difficulty of doing so. Then we would repeat the assignment but with an example of clean code. By doing this, they will experience the importance of clean code first hand. In my experience, this will lead to a deeper understanding than the knowledge alone.
