Hello! I’m Eve, a graduate from the University of Oxford with a degree in history and English and from Durham University with an MA in English studies. I have recently completed my PGCE to become a secondary English teacher and I have experience of teaching KS3 and KS4 English in a range of London secondary schools. I am able to tutor English up to A-Level both in person in South London and online. I am also happy to provide support with university applications, as well as Oxbridge specific entrance exams and interviews. I strive to create engaging and supportive learning environments and offer friendly, relaxed lessons that are tailored exactly to what the pupil requires.
I have teaching and tutoring experience in a variety of settings, both in schools and online. I have planned and delivered online tutoring sessions to aid prospective Oxford students with the history aptitude test (HAT). I have also tutored A-Level English language and English literature, as well as KS3 English. I have experience working in secondary schools and have an excellent knowledge of the UK curriculum.
I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student. Whether it’s breaking down difficult concepts and texts, providing additional writing practice, or offering strategies for test-taking and university interviews, I adapt my teaching content and methods in order to ensure that the student gets the most out of my lessons. I prioritize creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where questions are welcomed and challenging material can be worked through at the student’s own pace. My aim is to build, not just subject specific knowledge, but also confidence when it comes to writing and problem solving. I am committed to helping students achieve academic success and reach their full potential whilst fostering a greater love for learning.
