Eve Colabella

Hi! I’m Eve, and I am a Cambridge masters student, currently tutoring secondary, GCSE and A-Level students in English. I am incredibly passionate about education, and believe that the student experience is the most important aspect of learning.

My previous education involves three A-Levels at A* (including English Literature), and a first-class bachelor’s degree in English Literature with Creative Writing, meaning I have a thorough understanding of the subject, and a genuine love for reading and writing. I also work as an academic notetaker and support guide for disabled university students, meaning I have plenty of experience in working one-to-one with young people in an educational setting.

I understand that every student has a unique set of learning needs, and my lessons are tailored to teach each student in the way that is best suited to them. Whether this is working on developing the skills to analyse a text, providing essay feedback, working through practice questions together or going all the way back to the basics of English — I will be there to support the student in whatever way they need.

Most importantly, my teaching is grounded in empathy and patience. No student should feel judged or nervous about a lack of understanding, and I aim to make every lesson as enjoyable and accessible as possible. I will focus on adapting my teaching to suit the student’s personal preferences, and provide personalised support so that they feel comfortable during lessons.
