I'm a teacher of Physics and Mathematics trained to teach the subject areas at Kagumo Teacher's College -Nyeri in Kenya ( ). I have taught Mathematics since then todate.
To add on that, I've participated in the administration of Mathematics exams for the final secondary school year since 2014 to 2021 in the capacity of examiner.
This has made it easy for me to identify the areas of weakness of students in Mathematics.
I have handled learners of different abilities and I do understand that every learner has his own challenges as far as performance in Mathematics is concerned. To make learning of mathematics interesting and easy to understand, the material to be learned is organized into small learning units where students’ learning is checked at the end of each unit. The checks (tests) on learning should be accompanied by a feedback and corrective procedure.
The tests can be used to diagnose individual learning difficulties (feedback) and to prescribe specific remediation procedures (correctives). Under feedback and corrective procedure, I do point out the error (feedback) when the student makes a mistake and then follows up with further explanation and clarification (corrective).
Successful students follow up the mistakes they make on quizzes and tests, seeking further information and greater understanding so that their errors are not repeated.
Currently, I have relocated to UK,Wales and I do believe that I can be of good help to learners in Wales and it's environs.
Mathematics is simple and fun. All that one needs to have is the positive attitude and determination.
