I work in 1 hour , 1.5 hour , or 2 hour sessions.
Initially, I would spend a lesson figuring out with the student their current level, skills and faults, and will spend time introducing ourselves and building a good understanding of each other.
A normal lesson would consist of 10-15 minutes of help with anything you bring to the lesson or send me in advance that you want to ask support for - this could be tricky homework questions or something you didn’t understand in lesson at school.
Following this, we will delve into one firm or two related topics which will be the main focus of the lesson (40+ minutes).
The end of the lesson will consist of some past paper questions on the lesson topics which the student will try to solve independently (or with my help) and just before the closure point there will be time to reflect together and decide on an area to work on in the next session.
I have tried and tested this format before and it has held some amazing results for my students; so I am confident I can help / teach effectively.
