An hour long lesson, specifics will vary based on student’s needs but will include explanations of content alongside exam specific guidance and practice. I recognise that it is also important for students to have more than an hour of tutoring per week alone in order to see improvements therefore I prepare and direct the student to resources which should be used alongside the lessons with the expectation that they have completed these tasks before the next session so that they can make efficient progress. I also incorporate time for the student to ask their own questions or bring problems that they may have not understood from homework or school lessons.

I have been a GCSE science tutor for two years now and have helped all students improve grades by two or more over the span of a year. Although these lessons have been mostly in person, I have long term experience as an online music teacher so I am well practiced in delivering lessons to students remotely. My time as a Flight Sergeant in the RAF Air Cadets has given me a lot of experience working with, teaching and mentoring this age group. I also have work experience as a secondary school science technician so am well informed as to how the subject is presented and made accessible to students from behind the scenes in a school setting.

It has always brought me joy to pass on my passions and knowledge to other people and inspiring individuals to reach their own goals and aspirations.
