I usually come to meet the students first to get to know them and understand what level they are at to recognise how much help they may need to achieve their optimal potential. Sometimes I bring in a past paper for them to do so I can interpret their strengths and weaknesses. Once I understand what level I am working with I do a few example questions on a certain topic they aren't confident/familiar with and teach them as we go through questions, eventually once they understand how to complete them I allow them to independently do questions increasing with difficulty beside me so if they get stuck I can be right by them to provide the support they need. Eventually we work topic through topic and keep going over past work to make sure new and old work sticks with them.
