From my experience in exams and tutoring, I have found the most effective way to learn is through targeted revision, therefore I structure lessons towards individual students’ needs, to support them in the best way possible, providing the most effective practice techniques, and teaching them in the most effective way. Additionally I believe it is important to be curious in a subject, so I aim to promote deeper and more critical thinking when approaching a topic.
A typical lesson would be 45-60 minutes long, beginning with a recap or introduction to a topic, followed by a detailed explanation and tailored practice, providing real exam experience and developing valuable exam technique. From my deep level of understanding, built through my time tutoring, I am confident that I would be able to answer any questions about GCSE Higher and Foundation Mathematics, and explain to provide a solid understanding of each topic.
I am extremely passionate about mathematics hoping to purse this subject in further education, and believe in providing enjoyable and interesting lessons tailored to the students ability and needs.
I have previously tutored young children in mathematics, providing an interesting, helpful and engaging experience that I believe I can provide for GCSE students too. This gave me the valuable confidence, skills and experience to tutor GCSE students and share my knowledge in order to help students achieve their potential and the grades they require or desire.
Overall, I consider my lessons to be helpful, as they are tailored to each student to best prepare them for coming exams.
