I use a flexible and dynamic approach for my students, altering it for each person's individual needs! I follow a similar layout, and then make changes if and when the person needs.

I usually start with some small talk, and discuss my goals for the session, as well as discuss anything the individual may have struggled with regarding the subject matter during previous or current stints in education.

Then, I'll give them a task I've got planned, for instance creating writing or working on SPaG. While this is happening, I will alter my second task to help them understand whatever it is they have struggled with!!
