I use a structured, inclusive and engaging, person-centered approach in my transformative coaching when working with young people from all backgrounds, respecting diversity and individual preferred learning styles, focusing on strenghts and developing microskills.
I like to start by listening to you and getting to know you better, allowing time for rapport to develop.
I believe in setting clear shared expectations from the outset and finding the right balance between working purposefully and at pace and practicing flexibility to make adjustments in line with a holistic approach focused on wellbeing and mindfulness when it feels the right thing to do.
Once you are comfortable with the style and pace of sessions, we can move forward to learning by guided self-discovery, developing a growth mindset and honing a range of proven solution-focused techniques that can be used in goal setting, learning emotional self-regulation and developing new positive narratives and new lenses through which you learn to see things from fresh angles.
You will have plenty of opportunities to reflect on your experiences and to practice what you have learned even between sessions to allow for your confidence to solidify and for positive changes in your skills, habits and thought patterns to become firmly embedded for lasting results.
I like to use imagery, digital technology, drama techniques, memory anchors and above all the creative use of language to keep sessions relevant and interesting, tailored to the attention span, preferences, outlook and digitally conditioned information processing style of young people.
