Depending on the year you are in, we’d focus mainly on topics you are doing at school or topics you feel you are struggling on, in order to strengthen your maths skills in those areas. Our lessons would vary. For Y10/11 students, it would be purely past papers walk throughs in order to come across all possible type of questions, and I’d teach you some tips I learnt during my preparation for my Maths GCSE teachers don’t teach you at school. Whilst going through specific topics, it’d be a teach-do type of lesson. I also offer help for homework if needed. For younger students (Y7/8/9), lessons would be based on learning the foundation of all topics, then building your maths skills in order for you to be mentally trained and prepared by the time you take your actual GCSE. It would also be a teach-do lessons, and in addition, to exceed expectation, every lessons we’d have a go at higher level questions to again develop those skills. I’ve thought younger years before and I’ve been told I am of much help. Our lessons wouldn’t be boring as I am still young and full of energy, so I tend to have a healthy relationship with those I teach. My goal is to change younger children’s view on the subject of mathematics and make them understand it’s all a mind game and it’s really not that hard when you view it from different perspectives. Maths can be fun when thought the right way, and I’ll gladly be the person to show you that through my lessons.
