Highly qualified, passionate, buzzy and very well experienced teacher and lecturer of English and German from KS2 to post graduate level - all ages welcome, from 1 to 100. Excellent knowledge of KS4, KS5 and the European A1-C1 exam framework requirements with tips and tricks to promote strong results. Tailor made sessions to build confidence, boost language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, and enable students to have fun whilst making swift progress. Lots of experience with the 1-9 curriculum and A level AQA and Edexcel exam boards, and many tips and tricks to help students of all abilities access higher grade boundaries in both Language and Literature. Also adept at boosting 11 Plus candidates' level of English in preparation for the entrance exam - production of language for the creative writing tasks as well as comprehension answers, looking at grammar and structure. I currently teach online, and am able to tailor each session to the individual with resources readily to hand.

Having taught and tutored for many moons, my forte is helping you to become increasingly fluent, babbling and writing articulately and eloquently without inhibition. For KS3, GCSE, A Level and beyond, I have a wealth of materials to support both in English Language and Literature and German, I’m adept at raising levels of linguistic articulation and nurturing students to access higher grade boundaries. My results have been excellent and many of my students have chosen German and English as their fields of study at tertiary level. I enjoy helping students with wobbles and students oozing confidence achieve more in these sessions than perhaps ever in a classroom, simply by building self-belief, removing stumbling blocks and making them believe they can indeed do it. As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, I am also adept at helping students write powerfully persuasive personal statements.

I provide bespoke materials to support students and learners of all abilities, paired with specific exam boards (Edexcel and AQA, IGCSE), mark schemes or CEFR / Goethe Institute qualifications.

As a former head of department and current lecturer and tutor, I offer one-to-one tailored sessions to boost confidence and achievement in a relaxed but pacey and engaging environment, with a wealth of resources and tips to promote success. I teach hourly both from my home and online, and my mission has always been to make learning fun whilst ensuring maximum progress. Aiming to match individual learning styles to my sessions, I am able to cater for all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced, striving to support everyone, whether frustratingly baffled or an aspiring boffin.
