Support lessons will be informal and begin with a check-in and explore the current issues experienced. Working together, we will talk through these issues and work together in coming up with a solution. The emphasis will be on the student to think of solutions with guidance, promoting independence and providing life long tools to deal with future issues. Depending on the issues being brought, it may be necessary to provide students with things they can do at home, this can be anything from keeping a mood diary to a work sheet containing coping strategies. Lessons are mostly student led, they decide what issues to bring and that is what I work with. Lessons finish with a recap of what has been discussed and how they can keep working on this until I see them next.
