First with students I will focus on the overall knowledge needed for the text, this includes context, character analysis etc. This is to ensure all students have a basic understanding of the text before writing essays. Once this phase is completed I will slowly start to implement essay style writing with questions, as well
as, challenging ideas and trying to get students to follow a structure which works for them. My goal is to help students to find their style of learning and improving it to achieve the best possible grades.

During my GCSE time, I consistently achieved 9s in practice essays and paragraphs that were completed during school and at home. I also have fantastic relationships with the English Department in my school, where I consistently get exam feedback and learn how to mark my own essays to find areas of improvement. For students I will do the same, to try and help them tweak their learning to help them improve.

One way students struggle is with time management, during my sessions I will help students manage time management during essay writing and letting them know the best way to get an A grade essay in a short amount of time.

My sessions will include a lot of discussion and interaction, I will also help do practice paragraphs with students after we have covered certain materials. The practice will be on different themes and characters throughout the text. I am also going to consistently mark students work and expect full dedication and commitment.
