Hi! My name is Aster and I am currently studying Biology at Durham University! I love teaching and helping students experience education in a way that is personally tailored to their needs. In my 5 years of tutoring, my favourite aspect has been seeing students confidence grow in school and outside of school. My goal is to boost your confidence both in your academic abilities and yourself! School and exams are not for everyone, and I am eager to help students find a way to study that works for them, not just the system. I want to help students enjoy the content they study, not just to succeed! I am personally passionate about English literature, specifically studying dystopian texts. I also love biology, in particular studying genetics and human biology in general, I love understanding how things work! I am eager to help students who feel like school is not the place for them, and also those who love learning and need a boost. Due to my specialist experience in teaching neurodivergent students, my approach is strongly tailored to each individual student. Based on their needs I will adapt lesson format, for instance if they struggle with on-the-spot questions and engaging, I am happy to create more lecture style lessons. Conversely, if students struggle with attention span, lessons will be more conversation based with engaging tasks for us to complete together. Essentially, my focus is to create lessons for individual students, based on their experience with education and personal needs.
