I am a highly qualified English teacher with a BA in Education, a PGCE in English and ESOL, and a CELTA. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in inclusive pedagogy, language acquisition, and curriculum design, while my teaching practice has been shaped by a wide range of international and community experiences.
I have taught and assisted in prisons, FE colleges, outdoor education programmes, special schools, and community learning environments, both in the UK and abroad. I have also provided education consultancy and professional development in Malaysia. These diverse contexts have strengthened my adaptability and given me excellent communication skills, enabling me to support learners from many different cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.
My research on learner voice in prison education was recently published in a Routledge volume, highlighting my commitment to inclusive, humanising approaches to learning.
My teaching style is interactive and student-centred. I embed formative assessment into every lesson, so I can track your progress and make sure the support you receive is personalised and effective. I like to use a wide range of resources—real-life texts, digital tools, and even AI—to create lessons that are practical, authentic, and fun. Whether we are working on grammar, conversation, writing, or specialist skills, I’ll always bring in material that connects to your real-world goals.
I also have 10 years of experience in healthcare, so I can help learners who want to develop Medical English proficiency.
My aim is to help you grow in confidence and enjoy learning English.
