I currently work part-time in a nursery which has allowed me to understand the basics of education, coaching and teaching. With this tutoring opportunity, I am to be a 'life coach' for students (typically A level or University) who are struggling to manage academic stress. Having been through A levels and recently graduating from University, I have relevant experiences with these feelings and have created useful ways of coping which I feel could be useful for other individuals struggling with the same thing. Additionally, I would be happy to provide academic tutoring in subjects such as A level Sociology and English literature, degree-level Sociology (BA). I would be teaching/coaching online and am aware that this can create less of a rapport at times. However, I am to really get to know my potential students and make them feel understood. I believe by speaking to somebody who has been through similar situations, individuals will feel more understood and the coach themselves will have greater patience and sensitivity to their situations. My educational experience, though valuable, is not enough to be considered as a suitable life coach/tutor. Therefore, my credentials must be explored further. My two jobs since the age of 16 have been working with children. As well as developing a professional understanding of safeguarding, I have developed tactics and ways of educating young minds in ways that suit them. I believe my experience has made me an adaptable individual to people's needs. In my coaching, I would deliver lessons like this, via personalised powerpoints accessible via Zoom to enable a one-to-one, meaningful connection.
