About me

I have worked with children from the age of 16, coaching them gymnastics and I love helping them to achieve the skills that they work and train so hard to learn. I grew up in a household where both parents were teachers which gave me the opportunity to help run summer camps, acting as a teacher assistant and gave me the chance to work with children from the ages of 3 to 15 on a regular basis.

I can understand that students could get frustrated if they do not understand a topic or are not achieving something as successfully as they wish. I will work patiently with them while making lessons as enjoyable as possible because that is such a valuable component of learning and will encourage them to keep trying. During my education I found learning much easier if I enjoyed the lesson that was delivered and I would like to provide this opportunity to other students wanting to learn English.

I love helping children to find an area of education that they can enjoy as well as grow in confidence. I recognize that every student will vary in confidence and may require a more nurturing approach to develop their skills. Every student is different and therefore will require different techniques and I am happy to adapt my lessons to whichever way suits them best. In the first lesson I will grasp the level of learning each student is working at and discuss what they wish to achieve and set targets to aim for. Throughout the lessons we can adapt targets and I will make notes after every lesson. This will help me plan for future lessons and mark the progress to be on track to achieving their targets.
