I am a calm and patient teacher who enjoys using the communicative approach to ensure that you can use your language skills in everyday life.
Having qualified as an ESL teacher in 2017, I have taught English to secondary school students and adults in Spain and primary school students in Thailand. I also have experience in teaching online.
I have also worked in colleges and universities in the UK in administrative roles and wellbeing/support based roles working closely with students supporting them to help achieve their full potential and setting SMART targets.
My aim is make lessons fun and interactive but ensuring that I take consideration of your needs and requirements. During our first lesson, I will ascertain what it is you wish to gain from learning English and work to create lesson plans to fit your needs.
I will ensure that you are able communicate in the target language by using everyday examples and interesting topics of conversation incorporating vocabulary and grammar along the way.
Some techniques that I enjoy using include role plays, interviews and opinion sharing.
The main goals of this approach is effective communication, learning language by using it to communicate, focusing on meaning and appropriate usage and focusing both on fluency and accuracy. This will allow you to build the confidence and skills you need to use your language skills in real life situations.
At the end of each lesson, we can review what went well and what areas may require more work and practice in preparation for next time.
