I studied Chemistry at university, achieving a First Class BSc and a Distinction in my MSc, and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Over the years, I’ve worked as both a private tutor and a university mentor, supporting students academically and helping them build effective study skills and confidence in their abilities.

My approach to tutoring is fully personalised. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method as every student learns differently. That’s why I take the time to understand how each individual thinks, learns, and approaches problem-solving. Lessons are tailored to focus on their specific goals and challenges, whether that's strengthening foundational knowledge, tackling difficult topics, or preparing for exams.

Typically, lessons start with a quick check-in and a review of previous material. We then explore the topic of the day through clear explanations, guided examples, and plenty of opportunities for the student to practise and ask questions. I place strong emphasis on understanding before memorisation, and I bring in exam-style questions gradually to build confidence and technique. I am also happy to set homework to help strengthen their understanding also.
