Hello! My name is Em and I'm currently a final year physics student looking to help people that are struggling with their maths.

I have been studying with The Open University, which means it has all been self-directed study, requiring a lot of motivation and discipline. It means I am very comfortable communicating with others online, as I have been doing this for the past 4 years with classmates.

Building confidence in students is a huge priority for me and I have seen first hand how good tutors can make this happen. My Dad is a maths teacher himself, but I understand not eveyrone is so lucky to have an in-house tutor to guide them through tricky concepts.

My lessons will start with mini quizzes from the previous lesson, to enable me to understand the level my student is at, and what areas we need to continue working on. The first part of the main lesson will be me talking through and demonstrating whatever method we're working on, followed by many practice questions. Each lesson will end with a recap and questionnaire so I can understand how my student is feeling.

I'm calm and patient, and have been through A-Level Maths and Further Maths, so I understand just how challenging it can be. I break down tricky concepts into simple, manageable steps and tailor lessons to your pace and learning style. I'm reliable and organised, and won't ever cancel or rearrange a session at the last moment.
