I usually begin by reviewing previous work and identifying any areas that need extra support. I then explain the topic step by step, using simple examples before moving on to practice questions. During the lessons, i encourage students to ask questions and work through problem with me. I use a mixture of explanation, worked examples, exercises and short checks to make sure the students understand the topic. I also focus on building confidence and helping students why a method works, rather then simply memorising answers. I can help with topics such as arithmetic, fraction, percentages, algebra, geometry, problem solving, revision and exam preparation. My aim is to make maths easier to understand and help students become more confidence and independence learners.
