As an experienced and results-oriented educator, I am committed to delivering high-quality instruction tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning objectives. My lessons follow a structured yet adaptable format, beginning with clearly defined goals, followed by concept-driven instruction, practical application, and ongoing formative assessment. I emphasise clarity, academic rigour, and student engagement, integrating a variety of teaching methods—including visual aids, guided practice, and real-world examples—to foster deep understanding and long-term retention.
With a background in English Literature, I bring both subject-matter expertise and a strong pedagogical foundation to every session. My academic training enables me to guide students through the complexities of literary analysis, essay writing, and contextual understanding, while my practical experience ensures that each lesson is both purposeful and responsive to individual learning styles.
My work spans two main areas: tutoring students in English literature—supporting homework, coursework, and national qualifications (such as GCSEs and A-levels)—and preparing ESL learners for internationally recognised language certifications, including B2, C2, and IELTS. In both contexts, I focus not only on improving skills but also on building confidence, independence, and a lifelong appreciation for language and learning.
In literature-focused sessions, I help students interpret texts critically, explore themes, evaluate literary techniques, and develop coherent, persuasive arguments in their writing. These lessons are discussion-rich, intellectually stimulating, and grounded in close reading, historical context, and critical theory where appropriate.
In ESL preparation, I ensure students are equipped with the grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing fluency, listening accuracy, and speaking confidence needed to excel in exam scenarios. I incorporate targeted exam strategies, regular mock assessments, and adaptive feedback to help learners reach their goals efficiently.
My teaching style is empathetic, respectful, and learner-centred. I take the time to understand each student’s background, motivation, and challenges, and adjust my methods accordingly. Whether I’m working with a young student who needs support building foundational literacy, or an adult learner aiming for university-level fluency in English, I provide a professional and motivating environment that encourages growth and achievement.
