Within the first free lesson, I focus on understanding the student, their needs, their current understanding of Mathematics and their academic goals. With my previous experience in tutoring, I have found that the most effective type of lesson is not the one which is dominated by me speaking for extended periods of time, but the one which is led by the student. At first, you will show me your understanding of a variety of topics and then I will work alongside you to elevate you to the grade 9 level. I will teach you the exact methods I used to achieve A* in both Maths and Further Maths A-levels, which involves the use of videos, practice questions and past papers.

At the end of every lesson, I will set challenging homework based on the topics of the lesson. Additional to the lessons, I will be providing support throughout the week where it is needed to help the student through any difficulties faced in the homework. This way, they will not have to wait multiple days in order to receive the support they need! I find that I am easily relatable to students due to the fact that I too am going through the exam process, just like them. This means I can understand the struggles they are going through and can be more personal with them than a teacher normally could be.
