Hi, I’m Edward, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Nottingham with a strong background in mathematics and analytical problem solving. I offer friendly and supportive GCSE maths tutoring designed to help students improve their understanding, build confidence, and perform better in exams.

My lessons are structured but relaxed. I focus on breaking down maths concepts into clear, manageable steps so students can understand why a method works, not just memorise it. Once the concept is clear, we practise applying it through GCSE-style questions and past paper problems.

A typical lesson includes:

Identifying areas the student finds difficult

Explaining the concept step-by-step with simple examples

Practising exam-style questions together

Building problem-solving skills and exam technique

I particularly enjoy helping students who may be struggling with maths or aiming to improve their grade and confidence before exams. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through problems at their own pace.

With my engineering background, I’m used to applying maths in practical ways and explaining ideas clearly. I aim to make lessons productive, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s needs.
