I have had a year of tutoring experience and I think the most important aspect of lessons is that they are tailored to individuals, therefore my lessons are quite flexible. Initially, I like to ask students what they find most difficult and then assess student's ability and confidence with their subject through tests and questions. After gaining this understanding, I like to create power point presentations that combine online resources, physical resources and my own tips and tricks on topics. After covering topic areas, I like to test students understanding of topics with a mini test and then compile areas of improvement based on mini tests results into a single 'improvements lesson' in which we go through multiple areas of improvement in a quickfire style lesson. I also like to dedicate single lessons to both learning techniques and exam techniques.
I am always open to feedback from students as to how lessons can better cater to their learning styles and will adjust my lesson formats based on the feedback I receive.
