I’ve gained experience teaching English as a foreign language during a term of employment in Thai Bình, Vi?t Nam. I fell in love with the job as it allowed me to use my own knowledge to help others, for school quizzes, entrance exams, citizenship tests and job interviews! I have experience teaching in-person with classes of all shapes, sizes and age ranges, as well as experience with groups and 1-1 sessions online.

My experience teaching in a foreign country helped me to understand that in order for students to truly engage with their learning, you as a teacher have to show them just how important it can be for them!

Younger students required a more relaxed and fun approach, incorporating games and activities to keep things fresh and interesting. I believe that as long as a class of young students is energetic and excited, they are more than ready to learn!

For older students and adults especially, I found that my students often better understood how important it was for them to learn English. As a result of this I find it better to apply a more conversational method, discussing topics that are relevant to the student or they simply wish to learn about!
