Dr Romena Jasmin Jasmin

I am an experienced science educator with a strong academic background in Biomedical Science and Education, including doctoral research at University College London (UCL). I have taught science across primary and secondary levels in an international school setting and have extensive experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, student mentoring, and teacher training.

My teaching philosophy is centred on making science engaging, relevant, and accessible to all learners and from a range of backgrounds. I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process, so I use a variety of teaching methods, including inquiry-based learning, practical investigations, collaborative activities, discussions, demonstrations, and real-world applications of scientific concepts. These approaches help students develop curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific literacy.

I am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where students feel confident to ask questions, explore ideas, and learn from mistakes. I differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and use formative assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide targeted support.

My goal is not only to help students achieve academic success but also to develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong interest in science. Through engaging and student-centred learning experiences, I aim to inspire young people to become informed, inquisitive, and independent learners. I also place strong emphasis on developing communication, teamwork, and analytical skills, enabling students to apply scientific knowledge effectively in everyday situations and preparing them for future academic study, careers, and responsible participation in an increasingly scientific and technological world.
