My Mathematics lessons are clear, structured, interactive and carefully tailored to the individual needs of each learner. With over 20 years of teaching, tutoring and lecturing experience across primary, secondary, further and higher education, I have supported students with different abilities, learning styles and divers levels of confidence.
I teach KS3, GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, including exam preparation, revision, problem-solving and targeted support in areas where students need additional help. I begin by identifying the learner’s current level, strengths, and areas for improvement, then plan lessons around clear objectives and measurable progress.
My teaching methods include step-by-step explanations, worked examples, questioning, guided practice, independent tasks, exam-style questions and regular checks for understanding. I encourage students to explain their reasoning, ask questions and develop confidence in tackling unfamiliar problems.
I also adapt the pace and level of challenge to suit each learner. Where a student finds a topic difficult, I break concepts into manageable steps and use simple, practical examples. For more confident learners, I introduce more challenging questions to deepen understanding.
I monitor progress through quizzes, homework, past-paper questions and topic assessments, while providing constructive feedback and clear improvement targets. My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop strong mathematical understanding, independence, confidence and effective exam technique.
I also place strong emphasis on motivation, resilience and positive learning habits, helping students overcome anxiety, recognise their progress and develop the confidence to approach Mathematics with greater independence, curiosity and determination in every maths lesson.
