During my tenure as a Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, I gained extensive experience teaching undergraduate students from MBBS, Physiotherapy, and Nursing programmes. My core teaching philosophy focused on simplifying complex anatomical concepts so students could understand and retain knowledge more effectively. To achieve this, I routinely incorporated board drawings, labelled diagrams, and structured flow charts, transforming intricate topics into clear and manageable learning points. I also used anatomical models for hands-on demonstrations, allowing students to visualise structures three-dimensionally and strengthen their conceptual understanding.
A key quality I brought to my teaching practice was my commitment to maintaining an interactive, two-way learning environment. I encouraged students to ask questions, express concerns, and actively participate in discussions, ensuring that each session addressed their individual learning needs. I also provided regular academic support and career counselling, guiding students on future pathways and helping them build confidence in their professional development.
To assess and reinforce learning, I incorporated short activities, quizzes, and quick recap tasks at the end of sessions. These not only helped measure knowledge gained but also motivated students to engage with the material. I consistently aimed to make every topic interesting and relatable, believing that learning should be an enjoyable and inspiring process rather than a burden. Through these methods, I strived to create a supportive, engaging, and effective educational environment that empowered students to excel academically and develop a strong foundation in Anatomy.
