Dominika Pastuszka

Hello, my name is Dominika Pastuszka. I am a 4th year Korean and Linguistics student at SOAS university. The past year I did a year abroad at Seoul National University in their rigorous Korean language programme. I would love to help tutor students who are starting out learning Korean and want to develop their skills and practice their speaking and writing etc. I started out my tutoring journey when I was 15, volunteering in my secondary school. I volunteered for a company called “team up” and helped yr 7-9s with English language and literature. I also have been part-time babysitting for 2 years now which requires me to aid and tutor children with homework. Through my experience of tutoring, I have learnt the importance of communication and teamwork in order to help others find the answers that they are looking for. This also taught me how to work with people of all ages, especially those who are younger than me, I have learnt how to communicate and support children younger than me as well as their parents. Whilst in this position I was trained on the safeguarding of children but also how to efficiently teach and help them. I am able to identify issues and find an efficient solution to help people with their queries. I would tutor groups of around 2-4 people, and some students who had not been engaged at the beginning of the lesson, were working hard and asking questions by the end of the lesson, demonstrating my ability to gain peoples interest and attention in order to work hard. I am interested in teaching adults in order to help others like me develop their skills set. I look forward to working with you.
